Mandarin oriental hotel (
http://www.mandarinoriental.com/singapore/)
- Rooms
- Harbor view
- You can see Marina Bay directly (great view)
- Ocean view
- Rooms face "Singapore flyer".
- Part of Marina Bay is viewed. The high-floor rooms close to Marina Bay provide better view.
- Free room upgrade service
- It is sometimes a surprise.
- You may want to appeal that the trip is for celebrating a special event (e.g., anniversary, birthday, etc).
- Swimming pool
- Not crowded usually
- Parasol is given so that you are not directly exposed to the Sun.
- It's not that difficult to secure a sun bed; but the best time for the use is morning after breakfast.
- If you stay an ocean view room, you can look down and check the availability.
- Potato chips are good and offered at reasonably price.
- Breakfast
- The quality is above than average.
- No sushi is offered, but a little sashimi.
- Service
Marina Bay Sands hotel
(http://www.marinabaysands.com)
- Swimming pool
- No sun bed might be available due to so many people.
- You can't find some shelter from the Sun; it may not be good for Asians.
- Too many people in the pool for most of the time.
- Check-in / out
- It takes longer time than average; but there are not enough spots you can sit on while waiting.
- Rooms
- City view rooms are usually preferred because customers can see Marina Bay not the ocean and "Gardens by the bay".
- Room mini bar fridge
- It automatically checks what beverages customers pull out. Be careful!
- You can keep only one bottle of free water inside (no enough space).
- TV
- A bit hard to understand the manual displayed
- Breakfast
- It's ok for me but I found many people who said it was dissatisfactory.
- Marina Bay Sands food court (connected to the hotel)
- You can save money
and enjoy diversity.
